what is the statute of limitations in north carolina?

North Carolina
I was in involved in a car accident where I was hit from behind. I already settled and I might add that this was 5 yrs ago. I didn't know I would have problems now from that accident. I have muscle spasms in my lower back and my doctor said I would have them for the rest of my life. That, I could handle but now my left leg goes totally numb. My doctor told me it was from the muscle spasms and that later I may require surgery if it gets to the point where I can't work. There are times when I have no feeling in my left leg. Can anything be done? Probably not but you never know unless you ask.

Unless your settlement included future medical treatment you are out of luck. You would have a hard time proving this came from the accident and not aging.

I don't think "statue of Limitations" whether it's 1 year or 20 years matters at this point in your case because it has already been 5 years.

You already settled!, probably cashed the check, and spent the money..on and on and on.

Even if you only settled for property damage and personal injury portion was never addressed, the "SOL" in North Carolina is as follows:

N. Carolina 3 years Title 1, Section 1-52.

IF I'm wrong...feel free to correct me! I'm not perfect.
