Third party insurance payments. What is the name of your state? Hawaii When exiting an elevator at a hotel I tripped over an unattended bag that was left in front of the elevator door. I was visiting a guest of the hotel. The accident was witnessed by many as it was close to check in time. I have a few names. Initially I thought my injuries were minor soreness, but went to see my Dr at the end of the weekend. My Dr is very concerned and would like me to get a cervical and lumbar MRI, but the hotel insurance only does third party claims. I must pay up front, submit my receipts and then be reimbursed (fully, I hope). I must communicate through an insurance adjuster which seems to delay getting responses in a timely manner. My problem right now is the MRIs will cost me appx $2500 if I pay in cash, $3800 if I do an installment. I do not have the cash and am concerned I will not be fully reimbursed in a timely manner if I do installments. I am not looking to file a suit, just coverage for care; I continue to go to work, though on some days much discomfort. I am thinking the insurance is reluctant to commit to covering any medical, because though it was on their property, the bag was left by a guest, not an employee, so payment would be like admitting fault. I am unsure if I would be making this a bigger deal than it is by hiring an attorney, and am wondering what to do. Hawaii
