Wrongful Death Of My MmWhat is the name of your state? Puerto Rico. The town of Mayaguez in Puerto Rico. I'd like some advice on how to proceed in regards to my Mom's death. Her death was one that should not have taken place on 3/30/8 but at some later date, perhaps years later. In essence, I firmly believe that the death of my mother may have been prevented. She started to suffer from fainting spells recently, and I felt that the hospital released her prematurely and did not warn her or me of the perils. My mother's death on March 30, 2008, was due to severe head injuries, as she fell backwards on the stairs of her church on March 29, 2008. Sure, she was 82 years of age, but I do not doubt that if the hospital had been more professional about post-warnings, her fainting spells, she may have been prevented from climbing up stairs or the like. So, I leave this message here to see if someone can get back to me. I really would appreciate it since I don't know much about the law or how to get help from the legal system. Sincerely, Raymond1948 What is the name of your state? Puerto Rico. What is the name of your state? |

| The hard truth is that the awards in wrongful death suits are based solely on how much money the person was worth. Nothing else. As such, an 82 year old woman is not worth much to the court system in terms of money. In other words, forget court actions.

| I'm sorry for your loss, but do you seriously require explicit warnings that a fainting spell can result in injuries? Common sense tells us that if we faint, we fall down. If we fall down, we may get hurt. Trying to hold the hospital responsible for an adult's lack of common sense is beyond ridiculous. |
