| | | Able to Rent the House? What is the name of your state? Mass
My fiance and I are going to be living in a house (after we are married) that my mother inherited when my grandmother passed away. My mother had the house title set up as having herself, my father, and myself on it as three joint tenants. My mother and father want to rent the house to us (for a small amount each month). My fiance and I will pay all the bills, upkeep, and expenses concerning the house. My question is: can they rent it to both my fiance and I, even though I am on the title as an owner. Or are they only allowed to rent it to my fiance? I didn't know if they could ''legally'' charge me rent where I am on the title. |

Regardless, if should be the 3 owners renting to the two of you. In reality, you would be renting the house to yourself. |

| | | | Able to rent the house? Yes, by all bills I mean the heat, electricity, taxes, insurance, etc. (There is no mortgage thankfully). I don't mind the fact of renting to myself, I just wanted to make sure that it was able to be done and also legal to do so.
Thanks for your quick response. |
