My husband and his brother own their mother's home in Wisconsin, by joint tenacy. My Husband has not participated in the maintenance, or claimed any tax benfits. We live in another state and have a disabled child. Now the home is to be sold, and we have been asked to sign a quit claim deed, prepared by an attorney, turning ownership over to my brother in-law. We are happy that Mom is moving, and have no objection. We will see no financial profit frm this sale, and rightly so. Is this all we need to do? We all just want Mom to have a smooth transition. Thanks !
