Agent issues....

What is the name of your state? Michigan

We have a contract with out selling agent that states if we sell our home within 180 days of being off the market, that we must still pay the 6% commission to the agent. If our VA Loan is "assumed" by another VA eligible party, will we still be held liable for paying the 6% of the sale price to the agent? If so, is it possible to rent the house for 6 months after the house is off the market and then let them "assume" the loan, to get around paying the agent, or would they still be able to get "their cut"?

Red face

HomeGuru,

Sorry to upset you - but most of your answers to questions on this forum seem so general, I did refer back to the original post and your answers got me no further than I already am. I was trying a different subject of the forum trying to get a more informative answer. All I can say is, I sure am glad your legal advice is free, because I sure wouldn't want to pay for the answers I got from you.
