i live in maine,i was going to have an appraiser do an appraisal on my home, then i found out that the appraiser informed my ex-wife about it, to let her know (i've been divorced for 8 years, but have a child support hearing in the near future).are there any privacy laws that pertain to appraisers, and can i do anything about it.the appraisal is for a home equity loan from a credit union nearby.

Does ex hold title to or otherwise have any interest in the property?
Why would you not want ex to know the value of the property? Maybe so you could sell the property and pay the child support for your children.
