Arkansas- Builder is Building me a Home

I found a home that builder was starting and really liked it so I have signed an agreement to purchase the home from him upon completion. Along the way I am able to pick colors and things like that. It is about halfway completed and I have paid no money on this as yet because the property is under his name as it was going to be a spec home.

He had a judgement against him in a case in another county (not at all related to my job) and there may be a lien attached to his assets as a result. Am I still in good shape with "my" house if that happens? Or, can I not buy it because of the lien?

Nope. If the lien is placed against the property, he will be unable to transfer the property to you or anyone until he pays the judgment and releases the lien.

Thank you. It sounds as though it would not have attered if I had paid anything on this or not. I appreciate the information.
