hello...bought a house here in Connecticut in February...public sewer, private well...we are now wanting to hook up to city water but found out through a phone call to the local water commission that there is an "assessment due"...are we responsible for this assessment...in the purchase contract, we did not agree to any liens/encumbrances/assessments....if we are responsible, will our private title insurance contract cover this since we were not disclosed this? nothing came upon our lien/title check since this "assessment due" does not have to be filed at the Town Hall...also, through our phone call to the water commission, we found out that the seller's agent had called in January and knew about this assessment...was she required to disclose?...i appreciate any help on this matter...thanks! |
