hello we purchased 6 acres in Bulloch county Georgia four years ago and at closing we signed a blanket easment to the power company.we didnt think any thing of it until they decided to do tree trimming and bushhogging in our front yard they made a real mess and we contacted the supervisor he said that they didnt have to go as far as they did but they had a blanket easement and where within there rights.... my question is how in the world can we change a blanket easement to one that states footage and where do we start...and how can they come in take away our privacy and leave a horrible mess and hide behind the blanket easment ?they came into our property 25ft in some places all we ask them to do is clean tree stumps up and smooth the ground so we can maintain it .p.s if it helps the road we live on is private .

1. even tough you gave an easement the power company has no right to leave the property in a mess. So call and write to them to clean up their mess and level the ground
2. you need an attorney to review the easement document to see if it can be changed.
Prior to closing, you should have had an attorney review the document to make sure that your rights were protected.
