before taking aciton i would like to know if my unique problem is worth the energy. my property was purchased for the intent of sanctuary so i could write and my husbnad a vet could have peace and quiet. our neighbor who stated she never intended to live on the property, sends her alcoholic/addict releatives here to hide when necessary and now has begun to tear the walls down on the mobil homes she moved in for them to avoid tax hikes for additional liveable homes. Rat infestation is eminent. Fiberglass is already blowing around. Furniture, appliances and trash are strewn throughout her property. I have lost three years of writing ability because of the aesthetical qualities of the property across the road. To say nothing of the loss of monetary value of my property, which has been vastly improved by hand clearing , cross fencing and general beautification. The offensive property is now subject to further deterioration and pollution of the creek that runs through it. This has caused me emotional damage and blighted property damage. Do i have any case?
Will the public defender in my county do me any good. Can I make the owners clean it up?
Thanks

How do you expect an attorney to give you any real advice if you do not indicate what State you live in? Each State has different laws. I am an attorney practicing in the Greater Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL area. Trust me, your problem is not unique. If you know for a fact that the people staying next door are on the lam, call the police. Don't make false accusations. It's not fun being sued for defamation. Did the neighbor sell you your land? This could be relevant. Even if she didn't you may be able to bring a suit under the doctrine of nuisance. This is a civil matter. The public defender would have nothing to do with it. Are there code violations on the neighbor's property. If so, why not sic the code enforcement officer on her? Keep in mind that whatever action you take you will probably end up being taken off her Christmas card mailing list. You should schedule a formal consultation with a lawyer. The initial consultation is usually free, or a nominal fee maybe charged. A good means of obtaining an attorney referral is by contacting the your State's bar association and/or your local bar association. They probably have a web site.

Good Luck

The above information is provided as a courtesy, without any consideration and without knowledge of the specific facts. Do not rely on this information. Seek a formal consultation with an attorney.
