Buyer threatening to sue me

Los Angeles, California

I recently sold my Condo (6 months ago). Today I received a letter in the mail from the buyer of my condo. He is saying that he is going to sue me for tons of money because of a leak that he says I knew about. He also says that there is toxic mold "inside" the walls thruought the condo and that he wants to sell me the property back and sue me for the losses and emotional damages. He says that I knew about the leaks and the mold and did not tell him. He also says that one of the neighbors will tesify on his behalf.

First, he had an inspection done, nothing was found to be a problem.

Second, I never had a problem with mold or leaks. I don't know how rain could cause a leak in a condo that is on the bottom of three floors. I also don't know how I could've known about any mold if it was inside the walls.

Third, I never new any of my neighbors well enough to talk to them, and none of them have ever been in my condo while I was there. Don't know what they could testify to.

I would like to know if the buyer can do what he says he is going to do?

**A: the answer is yes, so if and when you do get sued, you need to hire an attorney.
