My aunt lives in California. She has owned her condo for over 30 years. Recently, there has been "friction" between residents of the complex, and the Association is now getting in the middle of it. She is afraid that the Association is able to FORCE her to sell her condo and that she will have to move. Does a Condo Association remotely have this kind of power? Could they FORCE her to sell and and make her move?

Not an attorney but am a landlord. As far as I can dig up out of past experience the answer is maybe. If the association had a covenant when you moved in that you signed and you are in violation of that convenant then they may have a case. I would either make amends and bury the hostility or consult an attorney before it gets to far along so that you can know your rights and what you are risking. Hope this helps Wg

No, the Association cannot force an owner to sell.
