What is the name of your state? ARIZONA

CAN A LANDLORD DECIDE TO RAISE THE RENT OF A HOUSE THAT WAS LAST MONTH ONLY 700.00 TO WHAT IS for THIS MONTH 1,000? EVERYTIME HE GETS CERTAIN TYPE OF TENENTS? WHITE, HISPANIC, AFRICAN AMERICAN ect. working, disabled ect, HE CLAIMS THE RENT IS FOR HIS MORGAGE BUT TRULY HE ALREADY OWNS THE HOUSE, THERE IS NO MORGAGE AND HE KEEPS CHANGING THE RENT ON HIS NEW TENANTS ALL THE TIME. PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS MOVING OUT OF HIS HOUSE AND HE ALSO KEEPS THEIR DEPOSITS AND CLAIMS THE HOUSE HAS ROACHES AND SHOWS THEM TO YOU IN A JAR. WHEN REALLY THE HOUSE DOES NOT HAVE PESTS INSTEAD HE LIES TO KEEP THE DEPOSITS THEN GIVES YOU A BILL FOR EXTERMINATION FROM HIS LOVER WHO IS AN EXTERMINATOR. or says he is. anyone know how I can find out what is fair rent for certain property especially if it's slumish. who can enforce such rules and laws?

You are shouting at us!

Get rent control involved but leave out all the melodrama when doing so unless you have valid proof of discrimination in his/her rental practices.

Unless I read the statutes incorrectly, the STATE, not the city, has power to control rents and has not seen fit to enact such a statute after the previous one was deemed invalid.

As for the current post, unless the poster can prove these actions are perpetrated as a discriminatory practice, the landlord can charge what he/she wishes.

Yes, rent is usually based on what the market will bear, It's none of your business what the mortgage is. Tennants are a pain in the bum
