Cemetery plot ownership.....

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas
In the late 1980s, my sister-in-law and her husband bought two cemetery plots. These are "lawn crypts", i.e. two grave spaces per plot, for a total of 4 grave spaces. For some unknown reason they added the name of their adopted son (5 years old at the time) to the ownership. The son turned out to be a real bum (drop out, drugs, family violence, etc.). Somehow he found out about the burial spaces and now wants to sell "his" part of the plot. According to the Cemetery he can't sell unless the other owners (his parents) agree to sell also. So as far as selling is concerned they are safe. My question is: Is there any legal way to remove this guy from the ownership of the plots? He was a minor at the time of purchase, and did not pay for any of this. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

**A: if son is an adult now, there is no legal way to remove him from the deed aside from a partition type lawsuit.

Why was it necessary to point out the son was adopted? He is as much their son as he would be if they had conceived him themselves.

**A: good point. The OP's next sentence was the true reason.
