A friend has been renting since March. She has a lease. The landlord wants to raise her rent and said he does not want children in the building anymore. She has two, but no other children are in the building. Everyone and the landlord are the same nationality. She is a different nationality. Is this discrimination or not? They have been in this country since March. I am trying to help them as much as I am able.

When does the lease expire? L can not raise the rent or tell her to move out until the lease expires.
L is possibly guilty on two counts:

1) discrimination based on children

2) discrimination based on race/nationality

She could sue L big time.
