Question

City re-zoning

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?Minnesota

Our neigborhood rests along the edge of a field that is zoned Agricultural. The owners of this land recently put a an application to re-zone this to a Highway Business District. The tentative plan would be for the potential buyers to put in a hotel and "family recreational center" right in several of our backyards. Because this plot of land is in the city's Comprehensive Plan that was drafted back in the 80's to someday be a Highway Business District, the City seemed okay with the request until a number of neighbors showed up to oppose for various reasons. If anyone has any suggestions as to how we may stop the rezoning, or a place for us to start it would be appreciated. Once it is re-zoned, I do not think residents will have any say on what does go onto the land, as long as it fall within city rules that exist at present.

**A: get all the neighbors and residents to send letters of non-approval and then show up at the hearing and speak out.
