Co-owner wants to sellFlorida: My best friend is co-owner of a house with her ex-boyfriend. She is no longer living there and he is currently making the payments. Best scenario is he would buy her out but he cannot qualify on his own. He doesn't want to sell but she needs to get out from under it. What are her options? I appreciate any advice. |

new developmentHe is now wanting to keep the house and has asked her to sign a quit claim deed and is going to pay her what he feels is an appropriate buy out amount. From what I have read, quit claim deeds look like a bad idea. Can he simply buy her out and refinance at the same time? Thanks for your help. |

| When he refinances, part of the money from the lender will be used to buy her out. Tell her DO NOT sign anything until she is guaranteed to get her money from escrow. She is to sign in escrow after she consults with an attorney. |
