Construction defects--hiring an attorney

Development builder has fixed many homes in our development with construction defects in exterior siding. Builder nows says it has stopped fixing homes. How do we go about selecting an attorney? List of basic questions?

Look for an attorney that specializes in construction defect litigation and has a positive track record. How many cases handled to date, won/loss record, settlement v. litigation, basis for litigation ( roof, siding, foundation, soils, structural etc.), does this attorney have familiar and general knowledge of building constuction, codes, architectural/engineering specifications, building material installation instructions/warranties, what other builders/contractors/architects/engineers has the attorney sued, does the attorney have a list of qualified and experienced expert witness consultants. Depending on the type of siding you have: has the attorney worked on cases involving specific siding material such as hardboard made by Masonite, LP, Forestex etc., EIFS such as Dryvit, Sto etc. Does the attorney have knowledge of class action lawsuits and settlements involving certain brands and types of siding etc.
