What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Florida
moved into house about 3 months ago. disclosure indicated previous leak and water damage in living room with no correction needed. until now, we have had no rain whatsoever. recently we have been getting daily downpours and the same area is leaking. the damage to the ceiling is very visible and getting worse by the day. it appears the previous owners only fixed the inside damage to the ceiling but never fixed the leaky roof. do we have any recourse.

Possibly. Before you closed, you should have verified, who did the work, exactly what work was done and exactly where. And made sure that properly State licensed contractors did the work and provided a warranty.

Florida, Okay HomeGuru, my realtor never suggested such a thing and we were first time buyers who didn't know any better. Long story short, we never verified the information. What now?

1. call a licensed roofing contractor to fix the problem.

2. call your Realtor and tell him/her of the problem and ask for help.
