drainage water

What is the name of your state? ca

My neighbor has a drainage pipe connecting to the water from the lot above them. However, they also have the a control valve to let the water drain out, or to water their lawn. We own the lot next to them, and are a little lower than them. They appear to have water running under their lawn during the rainy season. Water enters our yard from just under our joint dividing fence. Water is not coming out from the surface, but a few inches under the surface at one particular point. This causes a lot of water running to our lot. Are they liable for the water running to our yard? What are the draingage low for California?

It has been for a few years. We thought it was from rain storm until we discovered our neighbor installed some drainage pipes in our property. The area open without a fence. We had some dispute, and started to look at the water issue more carefully.

Okay, I will play twenty questions with you.

Has it been more than a hundred years or less than a hundred years?

It was a typo error. I am looking for the common drainage law for California. Please do not joke on this!

I would say it has been around 10 years. I started to examine the water issue after I discovered there were drainage pipes installed in our property to drain water from their patio by this neighbor early this year.

**A: it is against the law for your neighbor to drain their water onto your property. Contact the building department and a real estate attorney for further info and tell them that it's no joke.

**A: no, there is no statuate limitation. You get a court order and the judgement will contain the compliance date.
