I rented an apartment in Blacksburg, VA.
My lease extends from July-00 to April-01.

I rented the apartment while working
for a company. I lost my job with the
company on Aug 06, and I had to relocate
to Tenneesse on Aug 28 with a new job.

Do I have any right or option to terminate
the lease with no or less penalty?

The lease has a "job transfer" clause.
Under this clause, a tenant can terminate
the lease with a 60 day notice if s/he is
transferred to an office of the SAME company.

I lost my job on Aug 06, and I was unemployed
thereafter. Any relocation of an unemployed
person may be viewed as a transfer as s/he
is not bounded to any company. As such, may I get any benefit of the "job transfer?"

From what you have stated, since you were not transfered to an office of the same company, the job transfer clause in inapplicable. Therefore you broke your lease and must pay the damages in accordance with your lease agreement.
