We live in Colorado and have an easement across a neighboring lot "for the sole purpose of creating a driveway for ingress and egress to and from lots 62 and 63...". Our neighbors have just notified us that they are going to pave the driveway on their property. Paving will begin about 7 am on August 21st and "will require us to remain off the driveway until after 6 pm on the 22nd".
Can they do this and deny us vehicular access to our property via this driveway easement for two days?
We wrote them and told them we did not approve of this blockage and they just wrote back and said they're going ahead with it anyway and the county police said they could. What's your opinion? Could a lawyer help us protect our right to ingress and egress and stop the paving operations from commencing on Monday?
