elders custodian will not sign release

Son has sold mothers home but her nursinghome husband and or his custodian daughter will not sign release. husband was in nursing home at time of mothers death. Son is willing to make financial settlement with stepfather to move this along. IF this drags out the sale will be lost. the attorney does not seem to be moving on this. Is there anything that can be filed to move this along fast?Son is nam vet with ptsd and not up to the stess.
