Ex trying to sue for past mortgage payments

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Oregon

Hi,

My boyfriend and I were together for over 8 years. We bought a home together 3 years ago, we are both on the loan and deed. He always made the full house payments while I paid the utilities since he earned a higher income. This is something we both agreed upon and there was never an issue. We have now split up and he is demanding I pay him back half of the mortgage payments for the past 3 years. I am stating there was no contract between us and he will not be able to get any past mortgage payments from me. I am more then willing to sign my name off of the property and if he sells the home I will not ask for any money from it even though I helped with the downpayment and other items in the home.

I just wanted to make sure I was in the right thought process.

Thanks
Christy

**A: such matters are negotiated and generally in a partition lawsuit.
