| We put a one month deposit down on an apartment a week ago. The realtor said that the deposit would be the finder's fee and we would pay the first, last, and security when we signed the lease. But, our third roommate cannot sign the lease now due to co-signer problems, so we are going to lose the place. Question: Are we legally allowed to get our deposit back considering he didn't actually find us a place?? |

| Read the terms of your agreement. Does realtor get reimbursed for finding you a place you like, or for you signing a lease? On another note, where the heck are you? You pay a realtor an entire month's rent to find an apt & then still have to pay 1st, last & deposit?? There may be state laws regarding how much a realtor can charge for finding you an apartment. ------------------ This is not legal advice and you are not my client. Double check everything with your own attorney and your state's laws. |
