Is a floating dock, tethered only by two cables to keep it in position, considered real property and a part of the sale of the lake front land or is it like any other movable object, which would mean it needs to specifically be addressed in the sale's aggreement?

Technically, the real estate ends at the water line. The floating dock would need to be listed as in inclusion, just like the lawn mower, the bedroom area rug and the refridgerator. In these parts, a floating dock must come out of the water every winter anyway.

**A: floating docks are considered personal property but many times it is included in the condo registration as a limited common area appurtenant to the assigned condo unit.
