i reside in new york state and my mortgage company has recently sent me a letter stating they have sent my mortgage to a lawyer to begin forclosure proceedings i have called them to try and resolve the matter with them and they told me that i have 20 days to come up with the amount of money owed to stop the process wich does include 1300 dollors in lawyer fees wich they said would be paid first before a credit on my account would occure and then the remaining balance would be applied they have also taken a payment and a half and applied it to intrest oweing on my account im not sure if this is right for them to do this i have agreed with them about being behind on payments but not what hey say i am
