Question

I am living in a studio. my room has no heat as well as all the other rooms in the house. there is a wall heater down he hallway but i've never seen it function. i believe my room was part of a kitchen at one time because there is a vent shaft approx 6" x 6" on the ceiling that goes dirtectly up to the roof and has one of those vent fans on the roof. i took pictures of all walls, ceilings, floors in my room to document it. longest tenant living here other than 1 girl in front house. 2 yrs and new property management took over 1st of new year. thats when i had problems. was given 30 day notice june 7,2000. no reason. am quiet full time working single 41 yr old male for yellow cab of san diego as auto tech. have not recieved unlawful detainer as of this writing. assist manager and girlfriend always quarrelled but girlfriend did not live with me. girlfriend was evicted for non-payment of rent and being the boyfriend threatened to have me evicted as well even though i was not involved in their arguments. property management sent me email on one occasion for a 30 day notice because i was suspected of allowing girlfriend in front door. emailed property manager stating i honestly and truthfully played no part in this matter. 2 weeks later they found that she still had front door keys after being evicted and i was sent an apology letter. anyways, i would like to take them to small claims court as i have documents, reciepts with notices of no heat dated and signed as well as all corrospondance emails from landlord and photos. i would appreciate very much any time and professional advice you may have to offer me.
my question is can i take them to small claims court for the lack of no heat. do i have a valid case?
Sincerely, michael wood
