| Is he entitled to anything? Wisconsin: I purchased my home in May of 2004. The mortgage and the deed are both in my name only, but I had a verbal agreement with my long term boyfriend (now ex) that it was to be considered "our" house, provided he paid his half of the mortgage on time. Until December we both paid half of everything for the house. He has not paid since November. I gave him a five day "Pay Rent or Quit" notice yesterday. He says he has a lawyer. As I see it, even if he claims I "breached our verbal contract," he has no legal footing to stand on... Am I right or does he have any rights to the house or the proceeds from the sale of the house? (I put it up for sale a couple of weeks ago.) Further, if I were to get foreclosed on, would he be able to sue me for anything? |
