| HELP - How can we dissolve an HOA with only two units? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Colorado
We are closing on a loft in downtown Denver this week, which is part of a two-unit building with an unnecessary HOA. The current owner of the unit we are not buying has already tried to recoup overdue HOA fees from the previous owner from us, which we are not responsible for (and we haven't even closed yet!) and decided to paint the building while we had a contract on the place instead of waiting for us to close and giving us our vote! Having witnessed this, and other behaviors, we have decided we want no part of this HOA. We know that a two-unit building is not required to have an HOA but are unsure how to proceed in dissolving the association. We suspect the other owners will not be in favor because it seems they gain quite a bit from the arrangement. How do we proceed??? |
