I have an early May settlement and I'm running out of time. We bought a spec home and we were told that we have to use the builder's mortgage company or else we'll have to pay $7,000 more for the house. The home was advertised as 3 finished levels. On the price sheet we initially got, the finished basement was included (with nothing on it saying that we had to use their company for financing! Now, we can save $3500 and no PMI if we go with another company. Do we have to use their mortgage company? Is that legal?
