What is the law pertaining to family home appraisals? Is it appraised at the value at the time it was inherited or at current value? Repairs have been done on home by one of the heirs. Should the other heirs benefit in this new value of the home. The home is in Louisiana.

What is the purpose of the appraisal? Is it to establish the property value for estate and probate reasons?
