In PA... i will be taking ownership of a property i rent from my parents. they moved this home onto a property about 15 years ago. the problem is that part of the house (about 12 feet) sit on a "paper street" that is owned by the township. my father says it was an oversight that the twp. allowed. my parents are giving me the house as an early inheritence and i will probably sell within a few years.
my question is do i have a right to the township property because it is abandoned by them ((a paper street is a street that was on the orig. twp. plans for development (back in the early 40's) but never developed into one.))
if i try to sell the home will this affect the title??
how do i bring this to the twp. attention without opening up "a can of worms" any help would be appreciated! |
