HomeOwner Association Dues.

we bought our home over 2 yrs ago and paid our dues at that time. since we have not paid nor ever saw an assemblance of an association. the people who is the ceo of the association is the person who sold us the land. after speaking to other home owners who have lived here evn longer have not paid dues since their first yr hear. what rights due we have not to pay dues? there are is suppose to be for lights and upkeep ofother property. the man owns all of the unpurchased land,he pay under $200.00 a month for street lights. there has never ben a meeting even. also the owner and wife have 3 votes to our 1 plus all the lots they own they get a vote for. together they hae 2 to 1 vote over all the owners put together. if there were a vote ours would lose as we start with less then 2 of them. thank you for your help.

This one is pretty simple.... read your Deed of Trust and the Covenants. You will find that you are responsible for paying any association dues. If you don't, a lien could be placed against your property and it could be siezed (depending on your state laws).

And, at closing, you knew (or should have known) ALL the issues you are bringing up now.
