How Do I Get Paid?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FLORIDA

I am not a licensed real estate salesperson, nor a realtor, nor a broker, in any state. I am an independent businessperson.

If I refer real estate investors from any state, to a nationwide REO buying program, and they buy some REO assets from a bank or hedge fund, can I legally be paid a "commission" or "finder's fee" or "consultation fee" or marketing fee" or whatever name you want to call it, can I be paid the fee legally?

There is no "agency" here...I don't act on the buyer's behalf. I merely introduce party A to party B and if party B buys real estate from party A, I am entitled to a profit of one point.

Some one told me that to do this is a class 3 felony. Is that true?

I am trying to earn a living legally here, breaking the law is the last thing I want to do. So, if it IS illegal, how do I get paid in these real estate transactions?
