Illegal Plumbing Problems

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?undefinedFlorida

I purchased my home 6 years ago. I recently had a plumbing backup on the washer drain and the plumber discovered that it is not legally connected to the sewer but drains into the back of the property behind the fence. The house was inspected before purchase but not sure if that should have been included. Do I have any legal recourse to go back to the person who sold me the house and failed to disclose about the plumbing with so much time gone by? It is going to be very expensive to tear up the garage floor and install the plumbing correctly into the sewer. Now that the problem has been discovered the licensed plumber has no recourse but to report me to the county and require me to have the washer drain properly connected. Time is not on my side here.

Correct. At six years, the SOL on any claim (if you had one) has expired.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Plumber reporting you?

That sounds odd? Seems like you plumber is just mining for gold at you house. But seriously see if you have some sor of gray water regulations in you county, your wash water would apply. BTW do you really care if you wash water runs out behind the fence, isnt it watering you trees? Why not just snake the line and get it working again as it seems to have worked for the last six years.

Check with the planning department, it is possible that you don't require the wash waste water directly connect to the sewer and or there may be a grandfather clause.
