Question

I own a home in Fresno, California with another person. We have the deed listed as Joint tenants in common. We did this so if something happened the property would go to the other person and not get any family involved. We have had this house since Sept.91, in Feb 99 we had decided to try to relocate to Washington State and both decided whoever got a job first would move and the other one would follow. We both made a verbal agreement that we both would take care of our own living expenses the house payment was $596.00 and my rent in Washington was $562.50. In Jan 2000 I moved back to Fresno because my partner could not move, due to her mother was sick and she did not want to leave her alone. In Late April 2000 I moved back to Washington State and we decided to have a long distant relationship. In Aug 2000 she decided to lease out our property without my permission with an option to assume the loan (for payoff only). I was not told of this, she told me that she was moving to Sacramento. She told me all of this in about 5 days giving me no options what so ever. Some of my personal belongings are still there at the house in storage. She wants me to sign over the assumption paper work. She has told me that I can't do anything about this, its a done deal. Is it ??? I have been told that the Lease is void because its not signed by her and I together. Please help !!!!!! she said if I try to do anything It will become a stand off.
Thanks Skibud777
