I live in IL and own a condo in joint tenancy with my ex boyfriend. Would it be possible for him to refinance the property in his own name, based upon his own credit,(assuming he could qualify) and then for me to sign a quit claim deed? Would this relieve me of any possible problems in the future? Or would we actually have to go through with a complete sale of the property? My only goal is to get my name off of the mortgage and the title. IS this a possible solution?

Thanks for your help

Have him refinance based on the purchase of your interest. A mortgage broker should be able to help you with the specifics.
