Joint tenancy vs tenants in common

What is the name of your state? Ca.

Dear real-estate lawyer,

I own rental residential real-estate in Ca. with my brother. It is listed now as Joint Tenancy, both of us 50% owners. Can my brother change the Joint Tenancy to Tenants in Common without my signature or approval, or do we both have to agree to change the deed?

**A: he could if he deeds his interest to someone else.
