land contract issueWhat is the name of your state? Ohio I entered into a contract with a guy that skipped out on it in 9/05. He left some damage and bills, and I'd like to got after it. I got a real estate attorney in 12/05 and paid his retainer in cash. The case has yet to go to trial and it seems like my attorney is giving me the runaround. Does this seem like an excessive time, or do I just need to be patient? My major issue with the attorney is that the guy that skipped out had a bankruptcy discharged after we filed and never looked into us being able to get some of that money. Do I need to look into a different attorney? Thanks. |

| Were you listed in the BK papers? If it were me I'd cut my loses and stop spending on an Atty when my chances of collecting a dime were dismal at best. Sell the property and get on with life. Getting a judgment means nothing it is the collecting that can become next to impossible. No I am not one to allow myself to be stepped on by anyone but I am also smart enough to know which battles to fight. Sorry for the troubles. |
