My house is in South Carolina and I am renting it out. I am in the military, but I am now stationed in Utah. Should I write a letter to this man questioning the validity of his plat and demand that he have an new land survey conducted? Or should I get get a lawyer? Thanks again.

Well, 'land dispute' covers a lot of ground. :) What's the nature of the dispute? You should probably do both. Surveys have gotten a lot more accurate in the last 10-15 years.
