land title forgeryWhat is the name of your state? Az While in the process of going thru divorce, the soon to be ex-wife proceeds to sell all jointly owned property, including vehicles and vacant land by forging husband's signature on titles. This ex-wife is known by police and the small town inhabitants to be a drug-abuser and thief. The divorce is now finalized, and the ex-husband now finds out that all of his property has been sold. Is there anything he can do to take back his vehicles or his land? The land was sold by wife by forging husbands name, and this was notarized as well. It was sold for $2,500 and the value is well over $10,000. Does the buyer, knowing perhaps that he was dealing with a thief, have any liabilities by purchasing this land? What about the notary, who obviously had no identification of ex-husband to legally notarize the document, could this person be held liable? It is known that ex-wife took cash and spent it all, she even bragged about it to husband after he confronted her with the knowledge of what she has done. Ex-husband knows he won't get the money back from her, he plans on filing a forgery complaint against her. But in the whole jist of it all, can he possibly get his land and or vehicles back? Thanks ahead for any and all advice. |

| File police reports. The notary have to verify ID to sign the sales paperwork. So, who was the person who pretended to be you? |

so many police reports! In reply, there have been many police reports filed against the ex-wife, for breaking and entering into husband's new home, for violating restraining orders, for death threats...but yet this woman is still sitting pretty. Go figure! Again, we are talking very small town, and did i mention that the ex-husband is of Mexican nationality (US citizen) and speaks with an accent....btp, he just found out about the sale of the land and vehicles from his divorce attorney. He called the police to file a report, he is still waiting on a response from them. All the possessions were already sold before the divorce was final, and the divorce took over a year to finalize because the wife was in and out of jail so much for other complaints against her, that she always was granted more time for the divorce hearing. Who knows who pretended to be the legal co-signer! Sooooooo, does he have a chance in hell to take back his land???? thanks again for the responses. |

| Possibly but then you can turn around and write a check to the Atty who represents you in this action. |
