landlord holding property

my boyfriend made arrangements with a friend
for us to rent a room from her. he made all
the arrangements as far as rent went- i was
never included - don't even know what he was
to pay- can she hold my belongings because
he did not pay and am I responsible for the
rent- state is wisconsin
