What is the name of your state? NC

My parents co-signed a mortgage for my husband and I 15 years ago. They signed the deed over to us several years ago and their names are no longer on the deed. After the original bank sold the mortgage to several different mortgage companies, the current company is now foreclosing. Will this affect my parents' credit rating if they are no longer on the deed?
