Denver Colorado, I refinanced my home, the closing was in December and my first payment is due Feb 1, 2002. I just noticed that all of the refinance (closing / mortgage loan) documentation for the new loan has the same mortgage loan number as my old loan (the one that was just refinanced). I've called the mortgage lender and found out my true new loan number, but it is different from the loan number that is on all of the documents I signed. What are the ramifications of paying the mortgage (new number) when it is not the number listed on my closing / loan documentation?

Nothing,. Just make sure you write the correct loan number on your check.
Request that all the docs be revised to indicate the correct loan number.
