I am in NJ. My mortgage company raised my mortgage by over $300 with less than one months notice. Now I can not afford it. Are they allowed to do this?

If you are on a fixed mortgage. no. If you are on an adjustable, yes. There may be other factors but you need to read your mortgage document and talk with your lender.
