I became ill and had to take off of work without pay. This was a very hard time for us. We did not have any life or disability insurance on our mortgage loan (we thought we did.) I looked back threw all the paperwork and discovered that the lender did not even offer us this insurance. Isn't that against some type of real estate law? And does anyone know what I can do?

There is no real estate law that requires lender notification to the mortgagor. There may be a lending requirement on government backed loans so check to see if your loan funds are government type funds ie. the loan was sold on the secondary market to Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae. |
