My partner and I split up, we had bought a condo for 350K, we have an offer at 405k. My name is not on the mortgage because I became very sick. But, I did invest 45k of my disability money and have the cancelled checks that I wrote to the title company for the purchase. How can I place a lien? We were domestic partners registered in the state of NY.

**A: just as I thought. Then you have no legal interest in the property.
You can't place a lien but you can sue for your equity interest in the property.
