Need some advice (ForClosure)

What is the name of your state? Tennessee

Hi all. I need some advice please. Not sure if this is the right forum so my apologizes if it isn't.

Ok my mom has informed me that the bank is forclosing on her home due to one late payment.

To my knowledge here is what has happend.

She was late one payment. (January I believe) She sent in the next months payment, but it was returned. She was informed that this months payment will not be accepted. So it looks like she is 3 months behind, yet she has the money for this, and last month.

She was late one payment due to medical reasons. I believe she can get the money for the missed payment.

Can anyone give me some advice on now to handle this.

1.) Should we contact a lawyer.
3.) Who do we talk to? The bank, or the attonery?
4.) Who do we need to talk to in the above mentioned?

Thanks for your help.

**A: have your Mom get a certified check for the total amount in arrears including legal and other costs and pay it at once.

Thanks for your speedy response HomeGuru.

I talked to my mom again, and what happend was she missed a January payment. However she sent in the February payment, but it was returned, and they told her they wouldn't accept March's payment. She has the money in hand for the Feb, and March payment. She does need 10 days so she can get payed to pay the Jan payment.

She is going to contact a lawyer and work something out with the loan officier here. So everything should work out for the best.
